NOW…
I’m back in the saddle again! Once a picker, always a picker? Back on ebay and Etsy and even FB Marketplace with an assortment of teeny-tiny miniatures for a doll house, vintage cameras, Coke glasses, collectible plates and even chandelier crystals. Take a peak at etsy.com/shop/pickingingsisters
THEN…
One of my fondest adventures of all time was traveling all over the Southeast in search of vintage treasures with my sister. We were pickers; meaning we searched for other people’s used and unwanted stuff to resell. Not to restate the obvious, but we were the Picking Sisters. We had a blog, a etsy shop, sold on ebay, held more than a few yard sales and eventually opened a retail booth in an antique mall.
We are no longer in the biz, but you can share the fun of those travels HERE. I will post more images and tales of our wandering from time to time. You are welcome to laugh at my quirky photographs and corny text. Laughter was the best part of it all.
Oh, and did I mention we were international as well? We picked in Canada!
These are some of the handmade signs we saw along the way. To read more about them see the post at https://awriterwrites.net/post/signs-by-hand
One of our favorite picks were vintage board games. If you’d like to read about the history of this pre-Monopoly game, see the post here.
