Books in piles

Tsundoku is Japanese slang for acquiring reading materials but letting them pile up in one’s home without reading them. It is also used to refer to books ready for reading later when they are on a bookshelf.

See some of my book piles below. This pile is art related.

Huge pile of books about writing.

And how about inspiration, biography and travel books?

I love my readers too much to post self-help, recovery, children’s books, antique books and mysteries. The piles below are research for a book project about George Washington’s valet Billy Lee.

These are pictures of  books I treasure that were inherited from my parents. All have amazing personal inscriptions. The Prophet, Song of Solomon, Elizabeth Barrett Browning and The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam.

One of the reasons I love my ebooks is no one can see all the books I own.
